While New Yorkers get ready  to embrace a new generation of boxy taxis like the Ford Transit Connect  and the Nissan NV200, city dwellers in Bangkok, the capital city of  Thailand, were introduced to a different and far more appealing form of  the yellow cab: a Porsche Boxster sports car.
If  you're thinking marketing ploy, you may pat yourself in the back as the  Porsche taxi stunt was part of a viral campaign to advertise Samsung's  new Galaxy S II smartphone.  
Apparently,  the South Korean company wanted to demonstrate that unlike the  entry-level Porsche that costs 6,000,000 THB (about US$202,000 or  €140,000) in Thailand, its latest smartphone is affordable to a far more  wider audience in the country.  This isn't the first time we've seen a company using a sports car as a taxi to create a viral video, as Norwegian cell phone operator Netcom had done something similar in the past with a Mitsubishi EVO 9 (see here).
