Fuldamobil Meets 21st Century Retro Chic

If the Germans ever needed a word for, “three wheeled death trap” chances are that word would be Fuldamobil. It was a strange-looking microcar with seating for two and a face like a fish and built under licence in the UK, Chile, Argentina, the Netherlands, Sweden, Greece, India and South Africa as well as its native Germany.
It was sort of like an Isetta crossed with a Peel P50 and, contrary to what you might think, was said to be a great success at the time of its inception.
Now, Fulda resident and industrial designer Jeremie Pointier has reinvented the Fuldamobil as an EDAG design study for 2011. Suffice to say, it’s a big improvement on the original.
It has four wheels, for one, which anyone who doesn’t own a Reliant Robin will tell you is better than three. Style-wise it’s a nice mix of retro chic and modern practicality with a dash of Fiat Nuova 500 cuteness thrown in for good measure.
