Trailer for Rachel Weisz Film 'The Whistleblower'

The Whistleblower Trailer
"Doesn't matter who I work for, I wouldn't let anybody get away with this." We finally have an official trailer for the political indie drama The Whistleblower starring Rachel Weisz courtesy of its debut on Apple. We first featured a trailer for this a little over a year ago, but it was pulled because it was an early release. This new trailer has definitely amped up the energy and seems way more like a war film than the political drama it supposedly is. The supporting cast includes: Monica Bellucci, Vanessa Redgrave, David Strathairn, Benedict Cumberbatch, David Hewlett and Liam Cunningham. It doesn't actually look half bad.

A policewoman risks her job and her safety to uncover a scandal involving the U.N. in post-war Bosnia.
The Whistleblower is directed by filmmaker Larysa Kondracki, of only a Serbian film called Viko previously. The script was co-written by Kondracki & Eilis Kirwan (Little Christmas, Nostradamus and Me). The story is based on the experiences of Kathryn Bolkovac, a Nebraska cop who served as a peacekeeper in post-war Bosnia and outed the U.N. for covering up a sex scandal. This played at the Toronto Film Fest last year and is being released by Samuel Goldwyn Films. Whistleblower arrives in limited theaters starting August 5th.
